In years past, we have organized a state conference to advance the practice of structural engineering and to obtain valuable information from experts in the profession, as well as promoting discussion in the structural engineering community. As you know, 2020 has turned out to be quite a year, particularly with COVID-19, and as a result of CDC social distancing requirements and other related factors, we have decided to forego having a 2020 SEA of NC State Conference. We are looking to move our conference that typically occurs in October to S
pring 2021 (April/May) . We are hopeful that the COVID-19 pandemic will be manageable at this time and we can have an in-person conference. In the meantime, you now have the opportunity to be a 2020-21 Silver, Gold, or Platinum sponsor for our organization and future conference. This year we would like to ask for sponsorships to help continue to fund our organization for the next year. Your sponsorship allows SEA of NC to provide continuing education and other services to our members as well as promote sponsors like you to our community. REGISTER TO BE A SPONSOR HERE!
WELCOME TO SEA OF NC!
The Structural Engineers Association of North Carolina (SEA of NC) is statewide organization with over 250 members. The membership is divided into five regional chapters Asheville, Charlotte, Piedmont, Triangle and Wilmington. Each chapter has elected officers, conducts lunch and learn meetings, and members are invited to attend our annual state-wide conference. The conference location rotates to provide members a chance to show off the very different areas of North Carolina. SEA of NC was established in 2008 and started membership in 2009. In our short history, we have a state executive board, provide annual scholarship to engineering students, conduct awards program, participate in state-wide emergency response training programs, hold a two day conference to earn PDH’s and so much more.
If you are interested in becoming a member, your membership includes a subscription to Structure Magazine produced by our parent organization, NCSEA (National Council of Structural Engineer Associations), and gives access to webinars, code discussions, licensure updates and much more.
