MASS TIMBER CONSTRUCTION WITH CROSS LAMINATED TIMBER

This presentation will provide a review of North American Mass Timber projects using both cross laminated timber (CLT) and glulam. Design considerations for engineers and design teams will discussed, as well as framing systems possible with mass timber. The production of mass timber will be explored through a photo tour of a mass timber production facility. Several case studies will be reviewed – exploring the benefits of building with mass timber.

Speaker Bio:

Nick is a Mass Timber Specialist for Structurlam based in Atlanta, Georgia. He has over 6 years of experience in structural wood, mass timber, steel, and concrete design. He holds both master’s and bachelor’s degrees in Civil Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and is a licensed professional engineer. His experience as a project design lead and knowledge of the wood-based industry has helped Structurlam continue to build its presence in the Southeast market.
