We are pleased to announce that Jeff Ellis, PE, SE, Simpson Strong-Tie, will be presenting on CFS Lateral Design Using New AISI S240 and S400 code standards.  There are a number of research findings, design guides, standards, software, and other resources available today for the design of cold-formed steel (CFS) light-frame construction. This presentation will provide insight into the lateral design provisions from the new AISI S240 and S400 CFS framing standards. These new standards have been adopted by the 2018 IBC and represent the latest consensus provisions for effective and efficient CFS lateral design.

Following the webinar, attendees will have:

  • Awareness of the new organization of CFS light-frame construction provisions
  • An understanding of the updated lateral design terminology of the new AISI S240 and S400
  • Familiarity with the CFS light-frame construction lateral design provisions
  • The knowledge of the differences between the new AISI S240 and S400 and the previous AISI S213 standard provisions
